The Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP) successfully conducted its 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday, 2083/06/02, bringing together distinguished guests, tourism professionals, representatives of various organizations, advisors, Past Presidents and stakeholders from the tourism and environmental sector’s.
The AGM was held in the presence of Chief Guest Mr. Karna Shakya, pioneer tourism entrepreneur and conservationist. The program was also graced by Special Guests Mr. Alton Byers, Mountain Geographer and KEEP Advisor, and Ms. Elizabeth A. Byers, Ecologist and KEEP Advisor.
The program was presided over by KEEP President Mr. Devi Prasad Pant, who delivered the welcome address. General Secretary Mr. Pitamber Gurung served as the program presenter, while International CEO Mr. Ian Wall highlighted KEEP's journey, contributions, and ongoing initiatives. The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Vice President Mr. Ram Kumar Puri.
Former KEEP President and Advisor Mr. Ukesh Raj Bhuju shared insights into the history and establishment of KEEP, reflecting on how the organization began and evolved over the years.
The AGM also received goodwill messages from Mr. Ang Tshering Sherpa, Honorary Consul of Belgium; Mr. Navaraj Dahal, Honorary Consul of Estonia; the Secretary of HAN; representatives of NATTA; and other distinguished guests.
During the meeting, General Secretary Mr. Pitamber Gurung presented KEEP's progress report for Fiscal Year 2082/83, while Treasurer Mr. Rishi Prasad Nepal presented the financial report. The organization also outlined its future plans and priorities for Fiscal Year 2083/84.
The AGM provided an important platform to review KEEP's achievements, discuss future priorities, and strengthen collaboration among organizations and stakeholders working in tourism, environmental education, conservation, and sustainable development.
The event concluded with a shared commitment to further advancing KEEP's mission and strengthening its contribution to sustainable tourism and environmental conservation.
