Tree Plantation Program Conducted on World Environment Day 2026
Inspired by Nature, For Climate, For Our Future
On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP) successfully organized a Tree Plantation Program at Deurali Dharapani, Patap, Shankarapur Municipality–02, Kathmandu District, Nepal. The program was conducted under the World Environment Day 2026 slogan, “Inspired by Nature, For Climate, For Our Future.”
The initiative was organized by KEEP with the generous support of MetLife Foundation, Arbor Day Foundation, Asian Heritage Treks and Travel, Sherpa Society, Khumbila Samrakchhan Pratisthan, Third Rock Adventure, Sundar Sabita Foundation, and Shangrila Nepal Foundation. The event brought together representatives from supporting organizations, ward officials, local residents, and environmental enthusiasts, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
As part of the program, participants actively engaged in planting 600 saplings across the designated area. The plantation drive aimed to enhance local green cover, contribute to climate change mitigation, promote biodiversity, and raise awareness about the importance of environmental stewardship within the community.
The successful completion of the plantation program reflects the collective effort and dedication of all stakeholders involved. Through such collaborative initiatives, KEEP continues to promote environmental education and encourage communities to take meaningful action for a greener and more sustainable future.
