Cooking, Hygiene & Sanitation Training Conducted in Khijidemba
A three-day Cooking, Hygiene & Sanitation Training was successfully conducted from 14–16 June 2026 in Khijidemba Rural Municipality–1, Dadagaun, Okhaldhunga District, bringing together 35 local tourism workers.
The training was designed to strengthen participants’ practical knowledge and skills in food safety, personal hygiene, kitchen sanitation, and healthy meal preparation using locally available ingredients. Through interactive sessions and practical activities, participants learned the importance of maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation at every stage of food preparation and service.
The program aimed to improve the quality, safety, and hygiene of food services while strengthening hospitality standards within the local tourism sector. Participants gained practical skills and knowledge to provide safe, healthy, and hygienic food services, contributing to improved visitor experiences and the sustainable growth of community-based tourism in Okhaldhunga.
The training also highlighted the value of using local resources and ingredients to promote healthy, sustainable, and culturally appropriate food practices within tourism and hospitality services.
