Kathmandu Environmental Education Project successfully organized a 7-day Cook Training Programin Solukhumbu District from 21–27 January 2026. The training targeted tourism professionals, including homestay operators, hotel and lodge owners, tourism chefs, and local rural women, with the aim of strengthening local tourism services and livelihoods.
The program focused on promoting local cuisine, improving food hygiene and waste management practices in homestays, and enhancing customer care services for visitors. It also aimed to support local economic growth by encouraging the use of locally available ingredients and traditional cooking methods.

A total of 26 participants successfully completed the training. The initiative is expected to benefit many members of the community including local households, guides, and visiting tourists, while contributing to more sustainable and responsible tourism practices in the region.
