3 Days Wilderness First Aid Training

KEEP, in collaboration with the Sustainable Tourism Project (STP), Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), and UNDP, successfully conducted First Aid Training from 15th -17th December, 2025, 18th -20th December, 2025 and 27th -29th December, 2025.

The First Aid Training was designed to strengthen the capacity of porters and trekking guides to effectively handle emergency situations during trekking activities, ensuring the safety of themselves, their colleagues, and tourists. The training aimed to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in essential first aid techniques, including CPR, Fracture, Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), Bleeding control, and safe lifting and moving of patients.

The training was conducted in three separate batches:

  • 15th –17th December, 2025: Training for male porters and guides, with 25 participants.
  • 18th –20th December, 2025: Training for female porters and guides, as well as women tourism entrepreneurs and professionals, with 18 participants.
  • 27–29 December 2025: Training open to all interested porters and guides, with 30 participants.

Across all sessions, participants demonstrated strong motivation and active engagement throughout the training. They participated enthusiastically in both practical exercises and theoretical discussions, showing patience and commitment to learning critical life-saving skills.

We are confident that the participants have gained valuable knowledge and competencies that will enable them to respond effectively in emergency situations they may encounter in their professional or personal lives. Participants were encouraged to regularly practice and refresh their first aid skills to maintain readiness and confidence in real-life emergency scenarios.
